Hungary

After a few days rest (or more like sleep due to the 7 hour time difference), we flew with Hungary's national airline; Malev. Erika was looking forward to travelling on her countries airline, but it was somewhat ruined by the group of about 20 (already drunk) English idiots. Not only were we treated to them falling all over the place and shouting and singing at the Gatwick departure lounge, they also continued their embarrasing, loud behaviour during the flight. Thanks a lot guys - a great advert for the UK you are most certainly not......
Anyway, we landed in Budapest at just before midnight and spent the night on the seats in the arrivals lounge until we were able to catch the first bus into town, to catch a train to Sopron, west Hungary before reaching our final destination of Fertorakos. On 29th May, we celebrated Erika's 30th birthday at her mama's house. Plenty of good food and drink was had by all and Erika also recieved a nice birthday cake in the shape of India:
After a few days of fishing (me), eating to much nice food (both of us), we took the train to a place called Miskolc to spend a few days at a local spa called Barlangfürdő. Hungary has over 100 spa's around the country but this one is especially unique because some of it is set inside caves. We spent a relaxing 2 days at the spa doing nothing but laying about in the different pools or sunbathing in the hot sun. Its a tough life!

After the spa trip was over, we travelled to Budapest and took in the sights and caught up with a few of Eri's old friends. Budapest is a very nice city and there is plenty to see. It is also very easy and quite resonable to travel around. There are buses, trolley buses, trams and the metro to make use of. We paid the equivalent of £13 each for a 72 hour ticket allowing us to use all of these forms of transport to get around.
