Invasion of the animals

In our last few days in Cambodia we seem to have been invaded by various animals of different kinds. The gecko's seem to be growing larger in size (as seen in the picture on the left). These 2 gecko's lived in our bungalow and weren't in any hurry to leave. It seems strange looking back when I remember the first gecko I saw in our room in Kerala way back in December. I remember taking a picture of it and not mentioning it to Erika for a while. And that was only a small one!!!! Neither of us are bothered about them at all. In fact the other night we had 2 smaller gecko's running about on mosquito net over our bed. We also had a visit from a rat that was trying to get into the cheese and baguettes that I had stored in the pictured rucksack for safe keeping. It didn't scare easily and in the end I had to place the food in a plastic bag and suspend it from a rope outside our bungalow in such a way that the rat could not reach it. In the morning I found that this plan had been a success in keeping the rat from eating the food, but that the heat had ruined the cheese :-(
We also had a visit from a snake one afternoon too. We were lying in bed cooling down under the fan when Eri proclaimed "Theres a snake at the door". I sat up and looked and saw it before it turned around and slithered out through a gap in the doorframe..... We also had a visit from frogs everynight, their favourite hangout being near the bucket of water in the toilet....The first night I grabbed hold of when and took it out it emitted a high pitch scream (like a girl)
