So we are still in Udaipur..We never left..... Late last night, about 5 hours before we were due to leave we decided that we couldn't be bothered to go on another cold sleeper train to what was probably going to be a busier city. So, we rushed via rickshaw to the train station and cancelled our ticket for the evening train thus incurring a 50% cancellation charge of 228 INR. We also had to pay the rickshaw driver 100 INR; leaving us with the grand sum of 128 INR!! We also cancelled our onward train journey from Jaipur to Bikaner. So we are not going to see much of Rajisthan other than Udiapur.
But to be honest we both like it here and as we are both still not better from our colds, we have decided to stay here for a week before heading off to Agra for the Taj Mahal. We have now discovered a twice daily yoga class (donation accepted). Eri went tonight; it is on the rooftop of a fancy hotel overlooking the lake (see attached pictures). I didn't feel up to it this evening so I just sat and admired the view. It was such a beatiful setting for yoga, the sun was setting, the birds were singing, small silvery fishes were leaping from the lake, distant chanting and music could be heard from the temples dotted around the city all seemed to be at peace.
I think we made the correct choice to stay here no matter what we may be missing in Jaipur and Bikaner. Oh, and I was attacked by a cow today!!!!
We were walking in the street and chatting to our hotel owner who has invited us to meet his family when this huge black cow took exception to me and walked into me and butted me with its head. Luckily for me it didn't have long horns otherwise it could have been quite painful. Stupid cow!!!!
