Off for a trek

We are still in Nepal in Pokhara and tomorrow we are heading off into the mountains for a 10 day trek! We have both bought some nice North face clothing and will be setting off tomorrow morning with our guide. Hopefully we will see some great views of the mountains and there has been recent snow there too. Should be fun....

We have also made the decision not to return to India after our time is up in Nepal. This has kinda been forced upon us as the Indian authorities have recently changed there rules on multiple entry visas meaning that when you leave India, you are not able to return for the next 60 days!! We have a 30 day visa for Nepal and had a flight leaving India on 23d March meaning that we needed to re-enter India before the 60 day period was up. We have done some research and it looks possible to state your case for returning to India early, but to be honest we couldn't be bothered to take the chance and the risk of ending up stuck in no-mans land!!!!! So we have booked flights from Kathmandu to Bangkok on 10th March and saved ourselves the trouble although it has cost us more money!!!

So what have we been doing in Pokhara? Well, we hired a rowing boat the other day and went for a 4 and a half hour trip on the lake. We went for a hike up a local hill (Sarangkot 1,590m). The view from the top would have been really great except that it was a little cloudy by the time we reached the top and the mountains were mostly obscured, but it still looked nice. I have recovered from my sickness now and am ready to hike.
Speak to you again in 10 days (unless the Yeti gets me!!!)
